Neighborhood 2 - Newcastle Center
After disembarking the Queen Mary 2, we took a shuttle to London and had a bit of a wait at Kings Cross train station. We found a corner at one of the station pubs and plopped ourselves down, with all of our luggage.

“Way Out” is British for ‘Exit’
After a couple of hours, we grabbed our luggage and went looking for the correct platform, which apparently isn't announced until 10 minutes or so before the train leaves. A very friendly worker at the station came up to us, as we must have looked lost and tired….he asked where we were going and found the correct platform and helped us carry our luggage to the train. He found a closet in our train car and put our luggage in there for us. This never would have happened at NY Penn Station, hahahahaha!!!
So we got comfortable in our reserved first class seats on the LNER (they included food and drinks).

And three hours later, we arrived in Newcastle!
Here are some photos from our strolls around the center:

Vegan burgers at the Fat Hippo. Notice the ‘mini me’ beer!

So many bridges…….what a beautiful riverfront (Tyne)!
And then we packed up and headed south to Low Fell…

Next neighborhood: Benton/Longbenton and Birtley
