(I wrote half this blog post and then it disappeared, so this is ‘take 2’.)
We made it to Newcastle upon Tyne!! This will be our last blog post about the Queen Mary 2 so here are photos from our last full day and the morning of disembarkation.
We took it upon ourselves to get up early and take photos with our instruments:

We found the bridge room…
…and apparently this is where they keep the harp.

Our last afternoon tea, this time in the buffet:
(You must ask for the vegan sandwiches and cakes, but they are delicious!)

Goodies at lunchtime (most of those desserts are NOT vegan):

I finally got Scott up on the top of the ship (Deck 13):

On our last day, we saw a few other ships:

So close to land!!

Comedian on board:
Final drinks….

Our last dinner on the ship…and dessert, of course:

Last breakfast on board:

Woke up to this view…thought we had landed in New Jersey for a moment:

And on our last evening, we got an email from Canada asking for more documents for our application!!
Hahahahaha!!!!
So there you have it….we had a great trip from New York to Southampton on the Queen Mary 2. If you have the time, we highly recommend it. If you think of it as a week in a hotel with all your meals included AND transportation to the UK, it's a pretty good deal.
We will make some posts about our trip from Vermont to New York, and our arrival in Newcastle…..COMING SOON!
